General Conditions

  • This program adjusts to your preferred dates
  • CHANGES: Whenever there are other reasons that justify it, Destinos Guiados - Eventos & Turismo, Lda. May change the order of the routes, modify the hours of visit to the places or replace any of the places of accommodation and catering provided by other of similar category; such changes will be communicated to the customer as soon as possible. If there are unforeseen circumstances that require you to suspend any itineraries, customers will always be entitled to reimbursement of the amounts paid
  • REFUNDS: after the program has started, no reimbursement is due for services not used by the client. Although for reasons beyond the control of Destinos Guiados, the non-provision of services provided in the travel program gives the customer the right to be reimbursed for the difference between the price of the services provided and those of the services actually provided, if it is not possible substitution by other equivalents
  • CLAIMS: they can only be considered valid, provided they are submitted in writing and within a period of no more than 10 days after the end of the provision of services. They can only be accepted as long as they have been participated to the service suppliers (carriers, hotels, restaurants and other local agents partners of Destinos Guiados) during the course of the trip or stay, requiring them the respective documents proving the occurrence

Payment

  • When booking, the customer must pay 20% of the total amount of the program.
  • The remaining 80% must be paid up to 7 days before the start date of the same.
  • If the reservation is made less than 7 days in advance, payment will be made in full upon confirmation of the availability of the service, by Destinos Guiados
Cancellation
  • More than 30 days: cancellation without penalty with the right to return the 20% made
  • Up to 7 days before start of program: 20% penalty
  • Less than 7 days: 100% penalty

Transport

  • Possibility of rent-a-car by adding the price of the program (contact us)
  • Possibility of transfer at the airports of Lisbon, Porto and Madrid by adding the price of the program (contact us)

Clothing and footwear

  • Should be comfortable and suited to a mountain town.
  • From November to March, clothing and footwear must be fit for wet and very cold weather.
  • In the remaining months of the year it is recommended to wear a sweater for the end of the day

1st day: Porto - Viana do Castelo

Arrival in Porto, 2nd largest city in Portugal.
Visit to the historic center that has been a World Cultural Heritage since 1996 with a stop at the Cathedral - declared a National Monument - invoking Our Lady of the Assumption
Lunch in one of the typical restaurants of the city.
Exit Porto towards Viana do Castelo, with a visit to the Church of Our Lady of Agony, center of one of the most colorful pilgrimages of Portugal.
Panoramic tour of the city and climb by funicular to Monte de Santa Luzia, Temple-Monument of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Dinner and overnight in a 3 or 4* hotel

2nd day: Viana do Castelo - Braga

Breakfast in hotel
Exit Viana do Castelo towards Braga, a city with more than 2000 years of history where the oldest Portuguese Cathedral, dedicated to Santa Maria, is located.
Lunch in Braga
Surrounded by exhilarating green spaces, we suggest a visit to the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus (one of the oldest Sacro-Montes of all Europe), the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sameiro and the Church of Santa Maria de Falperra
Dinner and overnight in a 3 or 4* hotel

3rd day: Braga - Guimarães - Lamego - Coimbra

Exit Braga towards Guimarães, birthplace of Portugal, where the 1st King of Portugal (D. Afonso Henriques) was born. Visit to the Castle of Guimarães and the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança
Lunch of traditional portuguese cuisine
Ascent by cable car to the Serra da Penha Sanctuary.
Exit Guimarães towards Lamego, stopping at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies, one of the most celebrated places of Marian worship on the occasion of its great pilgrimage.
Exit towards Coimbra, birthplace of some of the oldest traditions of the country and discovery of some treasures of our cultural and religious past.
Dinner and overnight in a 3 or 4* hotel

4th day: Coimbra - Batalha - Nazaré - Fátima

Breakfast at the hotel
Panoramic tour of the city of Coimbra with a visit to the Old Cathedral (or Church of Santa Maria), a fortress church associated with the Romanesque way and the period of the foundation of Portugal.
Exit towards Batalha, with a stop at the Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitoria, a monument that is World Heritage and which celebrates the victory in a battle for the independence of Portugal.
Lunch at Batalha
Continuing south, visit the Cistercian Abbey of Alcobaça, built by the first king of Portugal, which is also World Heritage and is dedicated to Santa Maria.
Trip to the beach of Nazaré, with a visit to the Church of Our Lady, associated to a known local miracle.
Exit towards Fatima, Portugal's largest religious pilgrimage town, known for the apparitions of Our Lady in 1917 to 3 little children: Francisco, Jacinta and Lúcia
Dinner and overnight in a 3 or 4* hotel

5th day: Fátima

Breakfast at the Hotel
Visit the Sanctuary (Shrine) of Fatima which includes the ancient Basilica (with the tombs of the 3 visionaries: Lúcia, Francisco and Jacinta), the Chapel of Apparitions, the Basilica of the Holy Trinity, the Berlin Wall and the Shrine Museum
Free time for religious worship: Holy Mass, Rosary prayers and adoration at the Apparitions chapel
Lunch at the Hotel
Visit to the house of the little shepherds in Aljustrel and Loca do Anjo (place where the first and third apparitions of the Angel happened)
Visit to the Interactive Museum of Fatima and the Museum of Wax which tell the story of the Apparitions
Dinner at the Hotel
Optional: join the evening candlelight procession

6th day: Fátima - Évora - Vila Viçosa - Lisboa

Exit towards Évora, a city-museum in the heart of the Alentejo, conquered by the Romans in 59 a. C and considered World Heritage by UNESCO since 1986.

Visit to the Cathedral dedicated to Saint Mary, the Roman Temple (1st to 3rd century), the Church of St. Francis, the Church of Lóios and the Chapel of the bones.
Exit towards Vila Viçosa, an Alentejo village where the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Conception (or Manor of the Patronage) is located; in 1646, King João IV crowned the image of Our Lady da Conceição, proclaiming it the patron saint of Portugal.
Exit towards Lisbon, capital of Portugal, the country elected the "best destination in the world" at the World Travel Awards of 2018.

7th day: Lisboa

Breakfast at the hotel
Panoramic trip by Lisbon, visiting several temples dedicated to Our Lady, some of true popular devotion, such as the Chapel of the Lady of Health, in the historic neighborhood of Mouraria, the Romanesque Patriarchal Church (or Church of Santa Maria Maior) and the Monastery of Jerónimos, one of the most impressive monuments of the capital, classified World Heritage and whose church is dedicated to Santa Maria de Belém.
Lunch in one of the most qualified areas of Lisbon, in a historical and monumental setting next to the River Tejo, where the ships and caravels departed at the time of the Discoveries that would give "new worlds to the world".
