General Conditions

  • This program adjusts to your preferred dates
  • CHANGES: Whenever there are other reasons that justify it, Destinos Guiados - Eventos & Turismo, Lda. May change the order of the routes, modify the hours of visit to the places or replace any of the places of accommodation and catering provided by other of similar category; such changes will be communicated to the customer as soon as possible. If there are unforeseen circumstances that require you to suspend any itineraries, customers will always be entitled to reimbursement of the amounts paid
  • REFUNDS: after the program has started, no reimbursement is due for services not used by the client. Although for reasons beyond the control of Destinos Guiados, the non-provision of services provided in the travel program gives the customer the right to be reimbursed for the difference between the price of the services provided and those of the services actually provided, if it is not possible substitution by other equivalents
  • CLAIMS: they can only be considered valid, provided they are submitted in writing and within a period of no more than 10 days after the end of the provision of services. They can only be accepted as long as they have been participated to the service suppliers (carriers, hotels, restaurants and other local agents partners of Destinos Guiados) during the course of the trip or stay, requiring them the respective documents proving the occurrence

Payment

  • When booking, the customer must pay 20% of the total amount of the program.
  • The remaining 80% must be paid up to 7 days before the start date of the same.
  • If the reservation is made less than 7 days in advance, payment will be made in full upon confirmation of the availability of the service, by Destinos Guiados

Cancellation

  • More than 30 days: cancellation without penalty with the right to return the 20% made
  • Up to 7 days before start of program: 20% penalty
  • Less than 7 days: 100% penalty

Clothing and footwear

  • Should be comfortable and suited to a mountain town.
  • From November to March, clothing and footwear must be fit for wet and very cold weather.
  • In the remaining months of the year it is recommended to wear a sweater for the end of the day

1st day: Guarda - Mountain Small Villages - Guarda

Arrival in Guarda, the highest city of Portugal with 1056 m of altitud
Lunch: Bacalhau à Conde da Guarda, a special cod fish plate with the name of the city
Villages of Jarmelo - walk through picturesque and rocky granite villages and farmland
Visit the workshop of Mateus Miragaia, the last craftsman in the country to make shear shears for sheep. Pasture location of Jarmelista cow, to know the famous bovine species in risk of extinction that has resisted since the days of D. Sancho I, although it was the scarce of the world. Climb to the Castro do Jarmelo and contemplation of the landscape from the lands of Spain to "almost" the sands of Portugal
Dinner: Jarmelista cow with regional ingredients.
Tour through the streets of Guarda with a stop at a wine house where good taste and good atmosphere awaits you.

2nd day: Guarda - Trancoso - Celorico - Linhares da Beira - Maçainhas - Guarda

Breakfast in the hotel
Trancoso – exit Guarda towards Trancoso, classified as one of the Historical Villages of Portugal, that still today is surrounded by a wall of the time of Dom Dinis (13th century).
Celorico da Beira – visit to the capital of the Serra da Estrela Cheese with flavors tasting (bread, cheese, sausages, honey and wine) and discovering the art of its manufacture.
Lunch with tipical ingredientes in a small village, located in the Natural Park of Serra da Estrela
Linhares da Beira – Visit this medieval village of the XII century, classified as Historical Village of Portugal that meets the ideal conditions of climate and relief for the practice of Paragliding
Exit towards Serra do Caldeirão and visit the sausage plant “Fumeiros da Guarda” with teste proof.
Maçainhas – visit to the School of Arts and Crafts of Maçainhas that produces the Pope Blanket, unique blanket in the world, very warm and heavy, made of wool characterized by its long hair.
Dinner: duck rice with regional vegetables
Sleeping in a 3 or 4 stars hotel

3rd day: Guarda - Pinhel

Breakfast in the hotel
Guarda – after breakfast, visit to this city with traces of human occupation since prehistory and with charter attributed in 1199. This towering city, known as the city of 5 F's has the purest and healthiest air of Portugal; in this district capital you will be captivated by the traces of history visiting the Cathedral, the historic center, the Jewish quarter and the main monuments of the city: Churches, Solares, Towers of walls, Fountains and Pelourinhos
Pinhel - during the morning departure from Guarda towards a Wine Farm in the wine sub-region of Pinhel with guided tour followed by a wine tasting and lunch.

After these days you will return home, carrying "in the bag" the invitation to return!
